Dana hasil penipuan tersebut disinyalir disalurkan ke beberapa perusahaan milik Inong Melinda yang bukan atas nama dirinya.

Dengan aksi penipuan yang dilakukan oleh Melinda Dee, pihak kepolisian menuntut wanita seksi ini dengan pasal 49 ayat 1 dan 2 UU no 7 tahun 1992 sebagaimana diubah dengan UU no 10 tahun 1998 tentang perbankan dan atau pasal 6 UU no 15 tahun 2002 sebagaimana diubah dengan UU no 25 tahun 2003 sebagaimana diubah dengan UU no 8 tahun 2010 tentang tindak pidana pencucian uang.

Sementara ini kasus penggelapan dana nasabah citibank yang dilakukan oleh Melinda Dee atau Inong Melinda masih terus diseldiki dan dikembangkan oleh pihak kepolisian demi mendapatkan bukti-bukti lebih lainnya, karena dicurigai dana yang digelapkan oleh Melinda Dee ini bisa lebih dari 17 M.
